GUNNAR NYLUND VASE, STROMBERG, SWEDEN

This is probably the work of Gunnar Nylund, the most innovative designer at Stromberg. Stromberg seldom put the designer's name on the piece. Nylund joined Stromberg from 1957 to 1975. This is an example of one of his earlier pieces, before 1962. Signed Stromberg 13936 B940. Reference book number codes for vases up to 1962 went to B974.

Strombergshyttan is a Swedish firm known for quality glass and many of its designs are timeless. It was a family company, owned by the Strombergs (the first of whom was a former head of Orrefors) from 1933. Excellent condition. Measurements: 14.5"h x 4"w 2.5"d.
